  • I applied through SATAC in a previous year and want to apply again. Do I need to create a new application or can I use my old one?

If you already have a mySATAC profile, you can use it to log in and start a new application for the current admission cycle.

If you don’t have a profile, you’ll need to register first. Once registered, the same profile can be used for future admission cycles.

  • I didn’t receive a confirmation email for my application. What should I do?

First, check your spam or junk folder. If you still haven’t received the email after a few hours, there may be a technical issue or your email address may have been entered incorrectly. Contact SATAC, and we will check for you.

  • What's involved in the application process?

Applicants will need to register a mySATAC account or log in to an existing account.

  • I want to sit the STAT (Skills for Tertiary Admissions Test). How do I apply?

If you need to sit the STAT to support your SATAC application, you must book a sitting through ACER.

  • How much will my application cost?

Undergraduate and postgraduate applications require a fee. See the fees page for details and current costs.

    TAFE SA applications are free.

  • Why did the fee for my undergraduate application increase?

Undergraduate applications an early-bird fee. To secure this price and avoid a higher processing fee, we encourage applicants to submit their application and pay their application fee for Semester 1 courses before the early-bird deadline.

Check the fees page for more details and cutoff dates.

  • How long will it take to assess my application?

Several factors can affect how long it takes for SATAC to assess your application, including:

    • The entry requirements for the course
    • The types of qualifications you hold
    • Whether the course has additional entry requirements
    • When the course makes offers
    • The type of application you submitted (undergraduate, postgraduate or TAFE SA)

It is not possible for SATAC to provide an exact assessment timeframe for every application.

If you are not waiting on current-year results, you may wish to check the progress of your application about four weeks after submission. However, this does not guarantee that an offer will be made within that timeframe, as processing times can vary depending on workload and how soon the courses are due to start.

  • Do I need to provide supporting documents for my application?

Your application will indicate when you need to Supplying documents to SATAC. Whether you are required to submit them depends on the course(s) you have applied for and the types of qualifications you hold.

  • Can I supply supporting documents electronically?

Yes. If you need to submit supporting documents to SATAC, you can upload them in PDF, JPEG or JPG formats within your mySATAC application.

All applicants (except equity scholarship applicants) can upload documents while completing their application or after submission.

Step-by-step instructions are provided in mySATAC, and you can return to your application at any time to add more documents.

  • I provided documents in a previous SATAC application. Why do I need to submit them again?

While SATAC retains documents from previous applications for reference, they are not reused or carried forward to new applications. If documents are requested to support your current application, you should submit them as soon as possible.

  • What is the due date for submitting supporting documents?

It is recommended to upload your supporting documents as soon as possible after submitting your application.

In most cases, there is no fixed date for submitting documents because courses start at different times and there are multiple offer rounds throughout the year. However, some documents may have a specific timeframe for submission. Always check the course entry details when submitting your application.

If you are currently studying or have recently completed a course and are awaiting supporting documentation, submit it as soon as it is available to you.

Delays in submitting documents may affect the outcome of your application.

  • The status for one of my credentials says 'Action required – check your email'. What does this mean?

This usually means that additional information is required for that credential. SATAC will have emailed you with details on what you need to do. Make sure you provide the requested information promptly.

  • The status for my preference(s) says ‘Eligible for consideration’. What does this mean?

This means you have met the entry requirements for that course and will be considered in scheduled offer rounds. Whether you receive an offer depends on how competitive your application is compared with other applicants.

  • When will I receive an offer?

Timing of offers can depend on:

    • When you submit your application
    • How long assessment of your application takes
    • When you become for an offer
    • When the course(s) you have applied for is scheduled to make offers

Check the key dates for more information.

  • What if I don't get an offer?

SATAC generally does not notify applicants if they do not receive an offer.

Undergraduate, postgraduate, and international applicants can check the status of their application at any time by logging in to mySATAC or by contacting SATAC.

If you do not receive an offer in a scheduled round, contact the offering the course. You may be able to adjust your preferences for a future offer round or find out how to improve your chances in a future application.

  • How can I enrol in my course?

The institution offering the course will email you directly with enrolment instructions once you receive your offer letter. If you need help with enrolment, contact the institution directly.

  • Can I defer my course through SATAC?

Most undergraduate and postgraduate courses can be deferred through SATAC. If a course cannot be deferred, or can only be deferred directly through the institution, this will be noted in the course entry in Course Search.

TAFE SA courses cannot be deferred through SATAC.

  • I have forgotten my login details. How can I retrieve them?

All applicants can reset your password from the mySATAC login page by entering the email address you used to register your account. If you have forgotten your registration email, contact SATAC for assistance.

If you experience any difficulty retrieving your login details, contact SATAC for help.
