Equity Scholarships

General eligibility requirements

You can apply for an Equity Scholarship through SATAC if you:

  • Have an to begin at Adelaide University
  • Are an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or a New Zealand citizen
  • Can demonstrate financial barriers to accessing post-secondary study

Applicants who are continuing their study from previous semesters, undertaking or online study, or applying as international students, should contact the university directly for advice.

Applying for other types of scholarships

Supporting information

When applying for an Equity Scholarship, you will be required to provide supporting information, such as:

  • Offer of study, including your SATAC application reference number
  • Proof of financial barriers

If you receive a Commonwealth means-tested income support payment, you will need either your Centrelink Customer Reference Number (CRN) or your Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) file number.

If you do not receive a Commonwealth means-tested support payment, you will need to supply Australian Tax Office Notices of Assessment for each person earning taxable income in your household for the last two financial years. If a person’s annual income is below the tax-free threshold, you may provide a statutory declaration as evidence of their income. 

Rural/regional ranking 

For consideration under rural or regional , you will need to provide:

  • Your permanent residence postcode
  • The state you moved to for study
  • The names and postcodes of the schools you attended during the final two years of your secondary schooling
