If SATAC asks you to provide documents, you can easily attach them electronically to your mySATAC application.
For documents from your current-year studies, try to submit them as soon as they are available. This helps make sure your application can be processed without delay.
The documents required will depend on your qualifications and preferences. Your mySATAC application, or any correspondance you receive from SATAC, will clearly explain exactly which documents you need to provide.
If you are unsure what to submit or how to upload your documents after reviewing your mySATAC application, please contact us for assistance.
SATAC can access some results for you, so in many cases you won’t need to provide supporting documents for:
SATAC will notify you if we cannot obtain your results.
Please note, your institution may withhold results if you have an outstanding debt. If this happens, contact the institution for advice. SATAC will not assess your qualification until your results are confirmed.
Watch this video guide to see how to upload your documents quickly and easily to your mySATAC application.
If you studied overseas and your documents are not in English, you must provide:
The translation must include results for all subjects you studied.
You can attach scans or photographs of your official transcripts and parchments to your mySATAC application.
It is your responsibility to provide any additional documentation requested by SATAC, either in the original language or translated into English.
For those who have completed a state-based Australian Year 12 qualification or the International Baccalaureate (IB) in Australia, SATAC will generally access your results electronically and only request documents if needed.
However, if you have chosen not to share your results with a third party in your Year 12 student portal, SATAC will be unable to retrieve your results. This may prevent you from completing your application and receiving an offer.
If you believe you may have opted out – or are unsure – contact your Board of Studies or check your student portal to confirm whether you have authorised the release of your results to Tertiary Admissions Centres.
For applicants who have completed a non-standard Australian Year 12 qualification or studied outside Australia, your mySATAC application will prompt you to provide supporting documents.
If you have already completed a VET qualification from TAFE or another Registered Training Organisation (RTO) – in South Australia, interstate, or overseas – you must provide:
If you are currently studying a VET course, provide the following documents once your course is completed:
You can obtain these documents from the institution where you studied.
If you need documents from a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) that is no longer operating, you may be able to request a transcript from ASQA if your studies were completed between 2011 and 2015. For studies completed from 2015 onwards, transcripts can be requested through USI.
If you have completed a foundation, bridging, or enabling program in South Australia, SATAC may be able to access your records directly from the institution.
If you completed the program interstate or overseas, you must provide:
If you have studied or are currently studying at an Australian higher education institution, SATAC may be able to retrieve your results electronically.
If SATAC cannot access your results electronically, you will be prompted – either in your mySATAC application or by correspondence – to upload:
If you have taken the STAT, you will be asked to provide your STAT candidate number during the application process.
SATAC can usually access your results from the national STAT database, so you will only need to provide your results if SATAC notifies you that we are unable to retrieve them.
You do not need to submit your nursing current practising certificate if you are registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia or in New Zealand. Your mySATAC application will ask you to provide your AHPRA registration number. Entering this allows your CPC to be assessed promptly.
If you are registered overseas (other than New Zealand), you must attach a copy of your certificate to your application.
If you are applying for a course with English language proficiency requirements, such as nursing or midwifery, there are different ways you can demonstrate your proficiency.
If you indicate on your application that you have taken, or will take, an acceptable English language test, you must attach the official test results to your mySATAC application.
If you are an undergraduate applicant and have been impacted by circumstances or a condition that has significantly affected your previous studies and limited your capacity to reflect your true academic potential, you may request special consideration as part of the SATAC application process.
This option is only for applicants who did not receive support from the institution at the time of the disadvantage.
To apply, you will need to attach a completed Special Consideration of Educational Disadvantage form to your application.
Note: Current Year 12 students cannot apply for special consideration through SATAC. Please consult with your Board of Studies.
If you are applying for a course that considers personal competencies statements, you must follow the provided guidelines and attach your statement to your application.
To have your life experience considered, you must meet specific eligibility requirements. Many courses that accept life experience as a pathway require you to sit the Skills for Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT) in addition to submitting your personal competencies statement. Use Course Search to find the pathways considered for your chosen course.
You may be asked to provide a copy of your CV to support your application.
If you are asked for a CV, make sure it includes:
