Selection rules
Each has a set of for its courses. These rules explain:
- Who can apply (the requirements)
- How applicants are ranked if the course is competitive (when there are more applicants than places available)
Selection rules vary between and from course to course.
If you are unsure about your eligibility for a course, contact SATAC or the admissions office at the relevant institution for guidance.
Selection criteria
For many courses, an academic qualification is required to be to apply. The types of qualifications accepted vary depending on whether you are applying for , , or TAFE SA courses.
Some programs have additional application requirements that must be met alongside the standard entry criteria. These may include demonstrating English sufficiency, submitting a portfolio, attending an interview, or providing a clinical placement form.
Ranking
rules determine how an order of merit is established, and each institution sets its own rules. Ranking is often based on academic performance, while for TAFE SA courses it may also take the date of application into account.
SATAC ranks eligible applicants to facilitate selection. The method of ranking varies depending on the type of qualification considered for each course.
